Credit Tips from Southside – Day 1: Know Where You Stand

If you're working to rebuild your credit and get approved for a vehicle, the first step is simple — but powerful:

Know your credit situation.

Before you apply for financing, it’s important to understand what lenders see. That starts by checking your credit report — and the best part? You can do it for free.

Where to Check Your Credit (for Free)

Visit AnnualCreditReport.com — the only site federally authorized to give you a free credit report from all three bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion). You’re entitled to one every 12 months — and it's smart to use it.

What to Look For:

  •  Are all the accounts accurate?

  • Any late payments that shouldn’t be there?

  •  Do you see collections or accounts that aren’t yours?

  •  What’s your total debt compared to your credit limits?

Why It Matters

When you understand your credit report, you're no longer guessing. You’re making informed decisions. And whether your score is 600+ or below 500, you can take action — and we can help.

You don’t need perfect credit to get approved at Southside Auto Sales. But knowing where you stand is the first step in building a plan that works.
